OUR STORY
Janelle
My name is Janelle, and I am a third-generation jeweler. My family's jewelry legacy has been a part of Colorado Springs since 1949. I learned jewelry repair from my mother, Teri Vogan. She learned repair while working in my grandparent's store, Megel's Jewelry in downtown Colorado Springs. I have the honor of following in their footsteps and opening a jewelry store of my own to serve my community.

I have been a jeweler for the last 20 years honing my skills in stone setting, CAD design, wax carving, and engraving. I have also built my own line of custom designed jewelry, NellMarie, that I have been creating since 2011.

I have always had a love for art and a deep respect for the time and commitment each artist puts in to their work. I knew that one day I would have a place that wouldn't be your average jewelry store, incorporating not only jewelry artists, but artwork over many genres. I look forward to making Marie Jewelers the place to go for quality design, repair, and a unique experience overall.

Hollie
My name is Hollie and I am a full time jeweler, wife, mother, and student of the jewelry craft.

I started my interest in jewelry at a very young age with the creation of friendship bracelets, but of course didn’t know that would be my life someday. I have been in the jewelry industry for over 10 years. Under the guidance of multiple master jewelers, I have gained incomparable bench skills to include repair and fabrication as well as casting and manufacturing. I have been able to hone my skills of pearl and bead stringing and have created my own jewelry line, Opal Clay Creations. My line was inspired by my two beautiful children who constantly show me the beauty of the world in the simplest of places.

I have a passion within the jewelry industry focused on colored gemstones and have received my Diamond Graduate certificate through the Gemological Institute of America.
I can't wait to bring all of my skills and passion to Marie Jewelers, my home away from home.

Why
Marie Jewelers?
Marie is the middle name that has been passed down through both Hollie and Janelle's families and a name they both share. Janelle received her middle name to honor her grandmother with the same. Hollie received her middle name to honor her great-aunt and has since passed the name down to her daughter.

Middle names are a tradition that have lasted hundreds of years. They have been a way of honoring family, friends, and loved ones. For some, they have given opportunity to shift identities through one's life.
Jewelry is not that different. Many times, jewelry is passed down in families and made to honor the people we care about. People also use jewelry to experiment with their identities, changing styles to suit.

This is why Marie was chosen to be the name to represent the store as well as honor the family that came before.
